I was supposed to record vocals today and tomorrow for the forthcoming album, but, alas, I’ve got an abscess on one of my back teeth and my face currently resembles a melon. The swelling has come down with a course of antibiotics, but vocals will now be recorded after Christmas.
I’ve been confirmed for this show. Tickets £15 for a three day festival of music and comedy. The King’s Arms is owned and run by Paul Heaton, of The Housemartins and The Beautiful South. It’s my third time playing this festival – the first time was as singer with Adventures of Salvador – and I’m really looking forward to it. I’m on in the snug, downstairs, at 3:30.
I’ve been doing some work with a composer, Phil Bennetts, over the past few months, who has been helping me with my songwriting and offering valuable insights on the recording process. I’ve been in the studio several times both with backinhumanform and Adventures of Salvador, but the work with Phil has brought a fresh perspective to it all.
My second trip here. I also went to see Glencar Waterfall as it’s referenced in his poems. Amazing place. While I was there I felt it was right not to take any pictures, but just to let it all soak in. But here’s one from the grave itself.
