Recording news

I’ve been doing some work with a composer, Phil Bennetts, over the past few months, who has been helping me with my songwriting and offering valuable insights on the recording process. I’ve been in the studio several times both with backinhumanform and Adventures of Salvador, but the work with Phil has brought a fresh perspective to it all.

I plan to go back into the studio later this year to record three songs, all of which you’ve heard live in one form or another over the past year. These are Half-light, Shadows, and a third song which I’m currently calling The Anxiety Song, or possibly Auld Lanxiety. It’s not a very cheerful title though is it.

Visiting Yeats’s grave

My second trip here. I also went to see Glencar Waterfall as it’s referenced in his poems.  Amazing place. While I was there I felt it was right not to take any pictures, but just to let it all soak in. But here’s one from the grave itself.

Two Tubs in Bury on March 11th

I’ll be supporting my old band, Adventures of Salvador, in the Two Tubs on Friday March 11th. On stage at 9pm. The Two Tubs was the location of Adventures’ debut gig on 29/08/2011. I was the singer then. How do I remember that date? It was my birthday! And very nervous I was, too.
